As we head into a long weekend we would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our families a safe and happy weekend! We hope you are able to take time to unplug from technology and enjoy some outdoor time.
A reminder that planning has begun for the upcoming school year! Please see the important information below regarding Kindergarten registration and Class Placement Input. If you are moving out of the area and your child(ren) will not be returning for the 2022-23 school year, please inform the office as soon as possible.
Discover Kindergarten Event
This past Tuesday, our Kindergarten team hosted our new to Wilshire Kindergarten students who will be starting in September. It was wonderful to see our littlest learners explore the interactive learning spaces and connect with families!
Children who turn four or five years old during 2022 and live within our school boundary are eligible to register for kindergarten. Registration information is available on the YRDSB website at Kindergarten Registration. All new kindergarten registrations will be done online this year. Please see the link or email our school office at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information
Subs, KidsKitchen and now Pizza are available for families to order for their child. Please check your email to place orders through Healthy Hunger.
EQAO Gr. 3 & 6
We have scheduled our dates for EQAO for grades 3 and 6 students. EQAO is a provincial assessment of Reading, Writing and Mathematics. This year the assessment will be an e-assessment. Our assessments have been scheduled for May 24 – May 30th for our Grade 6 students and June 1 – June 7th for our Grade 3 students. If you have any questions please connect with your child’s homeroom teacher.
Class Placement Input
As we plan ahead for the 2022-2023 school year, we will soon be placing students into classes. Balancing the needs of all students is not an easy task. Placement decisions are made by a team of staff who know your child, their learning strengths and needs, and their peer relationships.
We value the input from parents/guardians. This survey allows your voice to be considered in this process. If you would like to provide input into your child’s placement, please complete this Student Class Placement Parent Survey by May 27th, 2022. Please ensure that you complete a separate form for each child. Thank you for partnering with us in this important task.
Gr. 8 Graduation Trip and Ceremony
Our Grade 8 Graduation Ceremony and Celebration will take place on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022! We are looking forward to celebrating with our Gr. 8 graduates and families.
