X-Movement is Coming to Wilshire!
We are thrilled to share that X-Movement is coming to Wilshire on May 9, 10 and 12th! That’s right, for three days, they will be engaging our students with high energy activities to increase self-awareness and teach coping skills to help them find their extraordinary selves through movement, dance, art, writing and more!

Social Media & Internet Safety Workshops
Paul Davis will be joining us at Wilshire and facilitating assemblies for our junior and intermediate students on the topic of Social Media and Internet Safety on May 11th. Some of you may have joined us for his family information session in November in partnership with Ventura Park Public School! Mr. Davis brings his experiences and wisdom to engaging and highly relevant presentations for our students. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, our grade 8 students are selling popcorn & cookies at morning recess for $2.

Students Moving or Leaving Wilshire ES
To help us plan for September, if you are moving out of the area or your child(ren) will not be returning to Wilshire for the 2022-23 school year, please inform the office by email at wilshire.es@yrdsb.ca
Kindergarten Registration
Children who turn four or five years old during 2022 and live within our school boundary are eligible to register for kindergarten. Registration information is available on the YRDSB website at Kindergarten Registration. All new kindergarten registrations will be done online this year. Please see the link or email our school office at wilshire.es@yrdsb.ca for more information. Our Discover Kindergarten Event is May 17th. For new families coming to Kindergarten in September, please contact the Wilshire Office for more information.
YRPH COVID-19 Health and Safety Measures Message for Families
A reminder that students, staff members and visitors are to continue to review and adhere to the COVID-19 School and Child-Care Screening Tool (please click on Check for Symptoms Daily), prior to entering the school daily. The screening tool has been updated to reflect new masking and isolation requirements.
Additional information about what to do if you have tested positive or been exposed to a positive case can also be found at www.york.ca/safeatschool. Please note that close contacts of a COVID-19 case who are not required to isolate must self-monitor for 10 days (from last exposure) and wear a well-fitted mask in school and child care settings.
2022 YRDSB Summer Learning Programs
Available During the summer, YRDSB continues to offer credit and non-credit summer school program opportunities for elementary, secondary and adult students. Registration is now open for the following Elementary Credit and Non-Credit Programs:
- Elementary Summer School (Grades 6 – 8 non-credit reinforcement)
- Grade 8 Reach Ahead – Students in Grade 8
- Summer Institute – Kindergarten to Grade 8
