Our Wilshire Library Learning Commons has been sharing the sport, fun and unity of the Beijing Winter Olympics. Here are a few Olympic Challenge highlights from the last two weeks.
How might you code your @Ozobot to win a speed skating race? Love the sportsmanship displayed by our athletes!
Wilshire students have loved @exploreorg live Giant Panda cam playing on the big screen as they learn about the Beijing Winter Olympics mascot.
Our Parade of Nations flag banner has been a source of excitement and conversation as students spot the flags they recognize and attempt to name them all. Check out our Lego wall where favourite flags are being created.
Cheering on our Women’s Hockey team to a gold medal while making this Winter Olympic athlete on an old pegboard with golf tees. Taking art to the next level!
Our primary students have loved the Winter Olympics scavenger hunt as they identified sports with images around the library.
Students had a blast creating and testing their own luge tracks.
How might you use the tinfoil to create an Olympic athlete? Our Wilshire athletes have done a mighty fine job creating a figure skaker, hockey player, snowboarder, speed skater and bobsledder. Making Team Canada proud!
Be sure to check out all the fun learning happening with our students kindergarten to Grade 8, by following @WilshireLibary on Twitter. Thank you Ms. Byrne for making such an inspirational and collaborative space to learn!
