From the Office

Another incredible week has passed at Wilshire! So many wonderful learning experiences have been happening in our classrooms and Library Learning Commons. Be sure to ask your children about our Wilshire Olympic Torch Run and Black History Month Book Bingo.

Wilshire Olympics

All Wilshire students will be participating in a socially distanced Olympic week of challenges Feb. 14 – Feb.18. Each class will be a team representing different countries from across Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. We encourage you to talk to your children about the country they are representing. There will be both indoor and outdoor events. Students will remain within their class, along with our hybrid students at home, to compete in the indoor events. As there will be outdoor events in the snow, please ensure that your child comes prepared to compete with hats, mitts, snow pants and boots. On Friday, February 18th, students are invited to dress in their class country’s flag colours!

Valentine’s Friendship Day

Monday we are celebrating friendship at Wilshire by wearing Pink, Red and/or Hearts! In keeping with YRDSB protocols, please do not send in candy or treats for your child to share with their classroom. If they wish, students are welcome to bring in cards for the entire class.

Wilshire Family BINGO Night!

You are invited to Wilshire’s Virtual Family BINGO Night on Thursday, February 24th, 2022 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm. This is a FREE school community event brought to you by the Wilshire School Council! You won’t want to miss the great fun and prizes. Please take a minute to complete this survey by Friday, February 18 to let us know who will be joining our Wilshire Family BINGO Night.
