Terry Fox Run 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, students in grades K – 8 at our school will be taking part in The Terry Fox National School Run Day (rain date: Thursday, October 1, 2020). All students will be walking outside for 20 minutes. Individual classes will be going out at a scheduled time slot in order to social distance safely. The students will be supervised by their teacher to ensure their safety.

Our school is proud to play an important role in keeping the legacy of Terry Fox going. This marks a very special year as it is the 40th anniversary of the Terry Fox Walk Fundraiser. Students will have the opportunity to discuss and reflect on the heroic efforts of Terry over the next few weeks as well as raise much-needed funds for cancer research.  Through our participation in the Terry Fox School Run, we hope to encourage leadership in our students and create positive agents of change in our wonderful school community.

Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated and donations of $20.00 or more automatically receipted. All donations are to be made online only.  Please send in all donations by Wednesday, September 30th, 2020.

All monies raised will be forwarded to The Terry Fox Foundation and 82 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research!

Donating online to  The Terry Fox Foundation is fast and easy. Donors get a receipt immediately by email.

We are very excited to be a part of this year’s Terry Fox Run. This is our opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those suffering from cancer. We hope you will join us as our school community bands together in the fight against cancer. Thank you in advance for your support!

Sincerely,
