End of the 2019/20 School Year

Hello Wilshire Families,

We have finally reached the end of a most memorable school year.  Thank you to all of the parents who have worked in partnership with us this year in unprecedented circumstances as we did our best to provide a positive educational experience for your children.

You should have received an email with instructions on how to access your child’s report card through their YRDSB Google email accounts.  When reviewing the report cards, please keep in mind that these marks and comments represent Term 2 which ran from February 3 until the school closure began on March 13.  Work completed online after the school closure can be considered towards the mark if it clearly demonstrates an improvement in achievement on the part of the student.  Your children will be receiving “I”‘s in several subject areas.  Please remember that this is not a penalty to the student, nor a reflection of their competence or ability to learn.  Regardless of marks, the work that your child did over the school closure period will still benefit them as they move forward in their educational career.

Plans for September are still being worked on by the YRDSB Senior Administration and will depend on information from the local health unit that may change over the summer.  Please watch for emails from YRDSB over the summer for more information.

On behalf of all of the Wilshire staff, I want to wish all of our families a safe, happy and relaxing summer break.  Take care of yourselves and we hope to see everyone safe and sound back at school in September!
