A Message from Vaughan Public Libraries

Our branches may be closed, but our collections and digital collections are still here for you and your students! Curbside pickup of materials is available at our three resource libraries, with expansion to more locations coming this summer.  Submit your request at any time using this online form.  Any items that you borrow can be kept fine-free until further notice.

Vaughan Public Libraries is your students’ virtual destination for Summer Learning and Fun!

Summer Reading Club June 20th to August 23rd students are encouraged to read and earn virtual badges in VPL’s TD Summer Reading Club.  When families report on their child’s reading, their child is entered in a draw for a weekly prize!  Each week there will be new English and French activities released.  Many of these activities encourage children to unplug from their devices and engage in hands-on, screen-free activities.

VPL at Home Children’s Page is where you will find many videos and activities for children including our popular STEAM videos and Kids’ Book Club.

VPL@Home Teen Page Find information on organizations looking for volunteers, Digital Escape rooms and more.

Teen Summer Challenge June 26th – August 21st is open to teens who have just completed grade 7 up to age 18. Library staff have created engaging virtual challenges that teens complete to earn ballots towards weekly prizes and an amazing grand prize draw.

Dungeons and Dragons @ the (virtual) library on Saturdays. Do you know anyone who loves acting and or roll play games? How about creative writing? VPL will be hosting bi-weekly home brew DnD challenges all summer long; one for 15-18 year-olds and one for 12-14 year-olds. Click the age group for more information and to reserve your spot.

Teen ELL Café Tuesdays at 6:45pm – 7:45pm Do you know a teen who is looking to improve their English Conversation skills and make some new friends? We’ll introduce a fun activity and then participants will meet in monitored breakout rooms to practice with the help of a teen volunteer.
