Cancellation of School Immunization Clinics

Dear Parents/Guardians,

In response to the COVID-19 situation a state of emergency has been declared in York Region. All non-essential services have been suspended until further notice and public health staff and resources are being redeployed to work on COVID-19 response. Consequently, the following school-based immunization services have been cancelled for the remainder of the current school year:

Program Details

Grade 7 School Immunization Clinics

All school clinics scheduled for spring 2020 are cancelled

(April – June 2020)

Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) Enforcement All outstanding enforcement activities for remainder of the 2019-2020 school year are cancelled

We will share details with schools and school boards once plans for school based immunization services are finalized for the 2020-2021 school year, including any plans for catching up students who missed dose two of the grade 7 immunization program this spring.
