Each year at Wilshire, we rely on the generous donations of our community to enhance the opportunities that are available for our students. Last year, through the money raised by our School Council, we were able to purchase 45 new Chromebooks to increase student access to technology in the classroom, pay for maintenance of our playground to ensure student safety, and fund trips and agendas for students who needed them.
In lieu of bombarding families with multiple fundraisers such as chocolate bar sales, cookie mixes, etc., we send out a letter at the beginning of the year asking families to consider supporting the school with a donation. Our fundraising letter was sent out in September, but we received only a minimal response in comparison to previous years. We know that September is a busy time, so we are sending out one more request in the hopes that families will consider making any donation they are comfortable with. No amount is too small! A tax receipt will be provided for donations of $25.00 or more.
When making your donation decision, please remember the following:
- Pay Online, register https://yrdsb.schoolcashonline.com click on “Make a Donation”. You will require your child’s student number to log in (A tax receipt will be mailed to you directly from our school board) or
- Write a cheque – please make payable to “Wilshire Elementary School”. Please note that we will need your cheque by October 30th for you to get a tax receipt by the end of February 2020
- Please do not send cash
