Our school parking lot is a busy place during drop-off and pick-up times at the beginning and end of the day. Thank you to those parents who opt to have their child walk to school rather than get dropped off. Not only is this good for physical health and environmentally friendly, it reduces the traffic that makes arrival and departure times so challenging.
If you do choose to drive your child to school, please make sure you follow the one-way directions of our parking lot and follow the directions of our staff members that are working in the parking lot to ensure student safety. The Kiss and Ride area is located in the east section of the parking lot. Students can be safely dropped off here to walk into the school. DO NOT pass stopped cars in this area! Children are exiting cars and we do not want to risk hitting a child who may not be paying attention.
Kindergarten children need to be escorted to the fenced-in area at the back of the school by a parent. Please use the side streets around the school to park your car and walk your child to the yard. The staff parking lot is for staff vehicles only. Please do not park in the staff parking lot at the west side of the school.
I know that traffic around the school is very busy and can lead to impatience. Give yourself extra time to make sure that you can get your child to school on time, despite the traffic. Please remember that in a school zone and parking lot, drivers must reduce their speed and be alert to children walking. Any drivers who are being unsafe in the school parking lot will be reported to police.
Thank you for your help in making sure that our parking lot is a safe place for all of our children!
