Welcome and Reminders

We have had a great first week back to Wilshire.  Thank you to our staff and families for helping this first week go so smoothly for our students.  We have a few new staff members that we are welcoming to Wilshire this year:  Ms. Wilgan is our new Grade 3/4 teacher;  Ms. Blois is our new Intermediate French teacher (afternoons); Mr. D. Baldesarra is our new Physical Education teacher, covering until Ms. Tan returns next spring; Mr. Alphonso is our new Music and Kindergarten teacher until Ms. Chrysostomou returns in December; Ms. Cohen is a new Educational Assistant working with some of our classes.

As you all have seen, our parking lot was replaced over the summer time.  The lines that separate the Kiss and Ride Student Drop-off Area from the Bus Drop-off area have been made clearer.  When you come into the parking lot, please make sure you stay in the left lane and drop off your children once you enter the Kiss and Ride zone.  Please do not pass cars that are stopped in this area as students may be walking and this can be dangerous.  We appreciate everyone who is choosing to walk to school as this reduces the congestion in our parking lot and on Beverley Glen, and keeps our children safer!

Please remember that we do not have forks and spoons for students at school.  If your child is bringing a lunch or snack that requires a fork or spoon, please send it with them.  We will not be providing these for students.

Important Upcoming Dates:  Monday, September 23 is a P.A. Day, which means no school for students.  Thursday, September 26 is Curriculum Night from 5:30-6:30.  This is a chance for parents and school staff to meet each other and for parents to learn about what is happening in class and how they can support their children’s learning.  There will not be food served this year, so please make sure you eat before or after you attend.
