Yesterday at Wilshire, we had our February Kindness Assembly. The walls were decorated with banners that our Buddy Classes created to represent themselves and our school mission to have a kind and caring school community (see below). Mr. Campoli’s Grade 6 class and Ms. Rossi’s Grade 1/2 class shared a video that they created demonstrating how students can be kind and helpful to each other at school. We shared our March Kindness challenge which is to purchase a candygram for someone else at school, to support the Autism Ontario foundation. We learned about autism and how we can support our friends at school who have autism. Our Choir entertained the school with a performance of “It’s a Small World”. Finally, we ended with Mr. Campoli receiving a pie in the face from Andrew, who won this privilege in our Valentine’s Dance-a-thon fundraiser (see photo below). It was a great community-building assembly for everyone at Wilshire!
