Wednesday, February 27 is Pink Shirt Day at Wilshire and across Canada. It is a day to celebrate Anti-Bullying initiatives and encourage students to stand up against bullying whenever they see it. It was initiated by two high school students in Nova Scotia who bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after a Grade 9 boy was bullied for wearing a pink shirt on the first day of school. The movement has now spread across Canada and around the world. All Wilshire students are encouraged to wear a pink shirt, or some other pink clothing item this Wednesday. Our Healthy Schools team has also organized various anti-bullying activities for all classes on that day.
