As a School Council, one of our goals this year is to increase the number of mobile technology devices (e.g. Chromebooks) that are available to students in the school. Our goal is to add two more class sets of Chromebooks to the school. Each Chromebook costs approximately $250. Currently, the YRDSB is offering a cost-sharing program for the month of November – for any amount spent on technology by the school, the Board will match the funds. Thank you already to everyone who sent in donations at the beginning of the school year, either in cash or through School Cash Online. We were able to raise approximately $1400 to put towards new Chromebooks. We wanted to send out one last plea just in case people had forgotten during the busy weeks of September. If you would like to make a donation to our School Council Fundraising to support the purchase of Chromebooks, please log into School Cash On Line (SCO), click on the “Donate Now” button, select the school (Wilshire), and indicate the donation amount. An automated tax receipt is sent once the donation is complete online, and is sent directly to the email address provided when you created your account. A receipt is sent regardless of the amount donated. Alternatively, you can send cash or a cheque, made out to Wilshire Elementary School accompanied by a note indicating that it is for the School Council Chromebook fundraiser.
