Primary Students Celebrate Canada 150

File_002.jpegIn celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday, the students in Miss Woodbeck’s Grade 2/3 Class have been participating in various learning activities across a variety of subject areas. Students are learning about various Canadian “Difference Makers”, File_000.jpegincluding Roberta Bondar, Emily Carr, Viola Desmond, David Suzuki, Rick Hansen, among many others. They have also learned about our many beautiful provinces and territories, as well as some of the many stunning places to visit, and the experiences they have to offer. Students have had the opportunity to explore their own heritage, and where in the world their own families have come from.File_001.jpeg Also, the wonderful traditions and cultures that their families have brought to our country and make up Canada’s tapestry. We are also proud to say that a student in our classroom had the opportunity to attend a citizenship ceremony for members of his family. To capture some of our learning, students are creating our own class magazine to showcase the many different aspects of this great country.
