PRESERVING SCHOOL FIELD CONDITIONS
Playing fields and school grounds are a year-round resource and the Board is accountable for maintaining them properly. As it appears there could be an early spring thaw and fields will look inviting, they must still be protected against damage that could ruin them for the remainder of the year. Plant Services reminds schools that fields are still considered closed. In order to prepare for the spring sport season and taking into consideration the safety of the students in properly preparing the fields for competition, limited use of fields and grassed areas will greatly assist in the protection of playing fields and the safety of the athletes come spring sports season. We appreciate your co-operation in this matter so that our fields (our outdoor classrooms) can continue to support the well-being of our students and programs.
