We would like to take an opportunity to wish all our Wilshire families a very safe and enjoyable summer with family and loved ones. It has been another exciting year filled with many accomplishments and memories. We continue to strive to build a welcoming, safe and inclusive school community. Some of our most proud moments were Athletics, Band Performances, achieving ECO-Gold status again!, Arts Night Celebration, Story Telling Festival, many charity initiatives and our academic achievement progress in developing a Math Learning Growth Mindset for everyone! All of these make Wilshire Proud!
The school year begins on Tuesday September 8, 2015. Students are asked to congregate at the rear of the school where they will be met by the staff. Parents and guardians will be invited to join the students on the tarmac to see who their child(ren)’s teacher is/are. (On the first day, students in JK attend for the last 100 minutes only, beginning at 1:35 p.m.) Please be advised that school starts at 8:55 a.m. sharp, our lunch hour will be 12:35 p.m. – 1:35 p.m. and the scheduled end time is 3:15 p.m. for all grades. For the first day please ensure that your child either brings a lunch or has written permission to go home.
On September 8, 2015 if it is raining – only students will be brought into the multi-purpose room (Grade 1-5) and Gym (Grade 6-8) to be put into classes. Please be reminded that due to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, class lists cannot be posted. Please also note that the organization on the first day of school is a tentative organization and as enrollment changes we may have to reorganize our current classes.
In closing, we would like to wish all of our students and their parents and guardians an enjoyable and safe summer! See you on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
